In the South East Natalie Graham meets Lt. Col. Tania Cubison, a military surgeon who is transferring skillls she’s learnt on the battlefield to her NHS patients at the Queen Victoria hospital in East Grinstead. We’ll also be meeting the True Heroes racing team, a British superbike team with a difference. The majority of their members are serving or ex-serving military personnel who have been injured on the battlefield, including double amputee rider Murray Hambro (pictured above). In The South Jon Cuthill visits RAF Odhiam, the base of three Chinook helicopter Squadrons to discover how service families are readjusting to the homecoming. We also meet Captain Dave Henson, a Royal Engineer from Fareham who after loosing both legs to an IED became Captain of the British Team in the Invictus Games and is now working on cutting edge biomechanics to help other military amputees.
